I have been working on GrandTotal 3 during the last nine Months.

Some days ago it has been deployed to my alpha testers.

As soon it prooves to be stable for regular use I will start a private beta.

I’m currently working on GrandTotal 3. Since the scripting API has been rewritten, I would be happy to test your layout (if it contains any scripts with the new version).

Please don’t send me your layout if you don’t have any javascript added.

1 ) Move to the Layouts Section
2 ) Select your Layout
3 ) Export it using File/Export
4 ) Zip the file
5 ) Send it to This mail

Mountain Lion and TimeLog

Later this year Apple will release OS X 10.8 called Mountain Lion. Beside adding a lot of cool new features, Apple also decided to drop some features.

Unfortunately one of them is the technology that TimeLog uses to talk to iCal.

This comes not totally unexpected because there where a lot of changes in Lion already. For that reason I started developing a brand new application last summer. One that does not rely on iCal:

There will be a private beta in the next couple of week.
As there is only a limited number of iOS devices allowed for testing, you may sign up for testing today and I will pick some testers when everything is ready.

Requirements: Mac OS X 10.7 Lion and iOS 5 on the iPhone.

Update: TimeLog seems to run on current Mountain Lion Preview

Alarms & iCloud

If you like to sync your To Dos over iCloud (With the Reminders-App on iOS and/or another Mac), select the “Reminder” calendar in Alarm’s preferences. (This does not work with Alarms Express)

iCal needs to be running to sync the To Dos. (And it sometimes takes iCloud pretty long to sync)

OS X 10.7 Lion

Apple issues “Snow Leopard Font Update”

About one month after breaking the PDF rendering with the OS X 10.6.7 update, Apple has released a fix for this.

Snow Leopard Font Update is available from the built-in OS X System Update or here

On my test machine it has fixed the issue.

Hint: Push your Alarms to your iPhone

If it happens to you that your Mac is running most of the time you can use Growl and Boxcar to push your Alarms directly to your iPhone.

This won’t work with “Alarms Express”.
